It is directly inspired by poetry about journeying across the sea. The trees and fauna are stylised after Persian and Indian historic manuscripts and are a mix of species to signify moving from one landscape to another. The boats are empty to symbolise the volume of people who have made a similar journey in their lifetimes and throughout history. The boats have been left as man returned to land, the boats wait, peacefully and enticingly for their next journeying passengers.
